Biography

I'm a freelance writer, editor and photographer based in London and Buenos Aires, specialising in Latin American current affairs and culture.

I've worked/written for numerous magazines and newspapers, including: The Independent, The Sunday Times, The Daily Telegraph, Newsweek, Monocle, Index on Censorship, New Statesman, Christian Science Monitor, New Internationalist, CNN Traveller, Time Out, Conde Nast Traveller, Wanderlust and various websites, in-flight magazines and regional papers.

I've also contributed to international publications from Argentina, the USA and Abu Dhabi and have filed reports and features from countries including: Haiti, Syria, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Ecuador and Serbia.

My audio work includes radio reports for Monocle 24 and talking on BBC radio as an Argentina/Latin America specialist.

On the books side, I've worked on the latest editions of The Rough Guide to South America on a Budget, The Rough Guide to Argentina, Footprint’s South America Handbook and Footprint's Brazil guide.

I have extensive sub-editing and proof reading experience and have edited for Monocle, IPC Media and Diplomat, among other media. I'm also proficient in Photoshop (photo editing), InDesign and Quark (layout).

A fluent French and Spanish speaker, my post-graduate qualifications include sub-editing training at the London College of Communication and the NCTJ’s newspaper journalism fast-track.
